Kathy Obear Visit

The Division of Student Life is bringing Kathy Obear to campus in January to continue to support our focus on multicultural organizational development. Kathy has done much important work in the area of multiculturalism, inclusion, and diversity. In particular, she and Vernon Wall have developed a model that helps organizations determine where they are as an inclusive organization , where they would like to be, and how to take steps, together, to get there. Kathy will be working in depth with Change Teams from each department within the Division.  You can read more about Kathy and her work here: http://drkathyobear.com/about/

We know many staff members within the Division have had the opportunity to learn from Kathy at various social justice and diversity conferences.

As a part of her time here on January 10th, Kathy will deliver a morning keynote presentation, titled:

Creating a Campus Culture Committed to Equity and Inclusion: Our Roles and Responsibilities

Everyone is invited to attend and you may RSVP at this link:

I had the opportunity to hear Kathy Obear speak last year.  She was so well spoken and her message on multicultural organizational development was right on.  In just about 1 hour, I learned more about multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion than ever could have imagined.  So, if you’re thinking of attending her morning keynote presentation on 1/10, I would highly recommend it.
